Yes there has been a CB repeater. We had a CB FM repeater operating for several years in the early 1980s. It was a split site repeater with several inputs... 40 up or 40 down from Ch 27 where the output was. The transmitter was on a hill, Palos Verdes peninsula and the repeater covered all of the Los Angeles and Orange County area and also into San Fernando Valley, Riverside and San Bernadino Counties. Was also heard and used from San Diego a few times. I still have the bare bones of the repeater. The receivers and transmitter sites were linked on 49 Mhz with Pace Land Mobile LO VHF radios. The repeater had a fairly large group of members/users... the group was called "The Pirate Radio Group". The whole think was cooked up by an Engineer and Ham named Laszlo Hirsch WA6SWG who was a good friend of mine. The repeater was taken down after a visit from the FCC and Laszlo fought the fines that the FCC attempted to levy for years. Single site 10 or 11M repeaters are difficult because the cavities for the necessary duplexer are huge. My current 10M repeater uses Kenwood commercial radios and is split site. Did you ever finish this project shown in the video?

Do you still have the expansion board for the Uniden 980? I can't find them anywhere except for a few people wanting to rip people off for old units. I have 980 with a bad LCD and would love to get it running with expansion.

I did my buddies radio tonight and it would not power on option. I just hit the band switch and 11m was there. it had the 6 thru holes with just solder in them. I hope I jumped it properly....it works fine. I did top and bottom on the left topside

an someone help. I had to pull the front off and two yellow wires came off, one is VR1 and I this it goes to the adjustment pot, the other to the meter but not 100% sure. Can someone take a picture?

When covid was still going strong, i took my 2nd stimulus and bought a rigexpert AA-600 and a stryker V1. At the time it was the only one available pre-modified on ebay. I wish i would have took the time to get a later model and mod it myself. I wish more people in this hobby would share knowledge and teach like you. I'm sure this info will help in the future, thanks for helping us out.

Can't you just jump out the last two pads with a solder bridge? The 1st two are already connected.

I have added the wire to my radio (955) but when I power on the radio holding the func and color keys I do NOT get the “ham mode” It just goes to the standard screen. I do however get 11 meter now. Any ideas why my radio is different?
